RELIEF FOR MORTGAGORS
Sir, —Mr. Massey says as a result of the work done by the Valuer-General satisfactory arrangements have been made between 150 mortgagors., and mortgagees. If Mr. Massey carried on this good work right through tho country lip will be doing one of the best services ever ho rendered. There are hundreds of unfortunate settlers who bought land during the mad war boom who can never hope to carry on unless they get values reduced. Land is only worth what it will produce, and if the farming community are to be happy and prosperous they must bo allowed a fair reward for their toil. I don’t think there aro many mortgagees or landlords who would ’ not make adjustment if they were approached in a friendly and sporting spirit.—l am, etc., ■ JUSTICE. August 5, 1923.
