DEFENCE FORCES
LOCAL CAMPS AGAIN. It will be remembered that last year the Minister of Defence (Sir Heaton Rhodes) inaugurated the system of seven days’ local camps for members of the Territorial Forces, non-coms, being allowed to participate for the purpose of training. The’ system proved a success, and was welcomed by business people as a good substitute for the previous system of a large annual camp for fourteen days. Asked if it was intended to follow out last year’s system, the Minister stated yesterday that the seven-day camps would be arranged for this year on similar lines to those hitherto held.
