The steamer Maheno is docking to-day for overhaul, after which she will sail for Wellington for survey and possible conversion to oil burning.—Press Assn. Ilnquiries made at the Union Company a office yesterday elicited a denial that the Maheno would bo converted to «n oil-burner. It was stated that the steamer. after overhaul at Sydney, would come to Wellington to lay up, prior to entering the intercolonial passenger service during the summer, if required.! THE NELSON SERVICE. The. Ngaio did not leave Wellington last last evening for Nelson during the rough weather. She is expected to eail for Nelson at 6 o’clock this morning. The Nikau sailed from Nelson ati the usual time last evening for Wellington, but Bho will not arrive until late this morning. ULIMAROA FROM SYDNEY. The Huddart-Parkor 00. received a wireless message from the Ulimaroa yesterday to the effect that she expected to arrive in the ■ Wellington stream from Sydney at 10 o’clock this morning. When granted pratique she will come alongside the King’s Wharf at about 11.30 o'clock. The Ulimaroa has 162 passengers and about 1000 tons of general cargo to land here, and she will return to Sydney on Friday. ZEALANDIO LEAVES HOME. The Shaw-Savill Co. have received cabled Information stating that the Zealandio sailed from Liverpool on August 18 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is expected at the northern port on September 25, and at Wellington on October 2. TAHITI FOR ’FRISCO. The Union Company’s R.M.S. Tahiti is to leave Sydney to-morrow for Wellington, whero she will arrive on Monday. SII e Is timed to sail for San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete, at 3 o’clock next Tuesday afternoon. Owing to big seas lit the heads last evening tho Union Company’s Lyttelton ferry steamer Mararoa did not leave for Lyttelton. Sho will mis a trip, leaving hero to-morrow evening for Lyttelton as usual. MISCELLANEOUS. Tho Baden Powell is due at Wellington: to-day from Greymouth. After unloading a cargo of timber, she will load general cargo Dor Vicatport, ’Greymouth, and Hokitika. The Wingatui will arrive nt Wellington on Saturday from Auckland. She has cargo from the Canadian Cruiser aboard, and after putting out a portion here, she will proceed to southern ports. The John lias been bar-bound at Hokianga, and consequently will not now arrlva at Wellington until next Monday or Tuesday from Lyrtrlton to load for Wanganui and New Plymouth.
