FIRE AT ISLAND BAY
An outbreak of fire occurred in the drying-shed of the Salvation Army Bovs’ Home at Island Bay yesterday afternoon, shortly after 4 o’clock. A call was sent to the fire brigade, but on the way the engine met with an accident. 'Fortunately the shed was some distance from the main building, which greatly reduced the danger of the fire spreading. Before the arrival of another engine the boys of the institution had the outbreak in hand. The damage done mainly to the ceiling, amounted to about £lO.
