MAGISTRATE’S COURT
At tho Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Mr. E. Page, 8.M., Mary Ellen Pliippen, on a charge of being idle and disorderly, was remanded for medical observation. I Gordon Templeton pleaded guilty:, to trespassing on a racecourse on he was prohibited. Chief-Detective Kemp said no action would have been taken had defendant left when asked. ' Mr. Mazengarb, for the defendant, admitted that tho man had contested the authority of the man who accost- i ed him, but, on learning that he friis a detective, he left.* A fine of ;£3 and costs was imposed. ! Peter Singleton and Jane Jackson. (Mr. Hoggard), charged jointly, pleaded guilty to a charge of flavour, while Singleton also pleadea guilting to assaulting a constable. The woman was discharged, and the maid utcused fined £3 and costs £1 Is.. Harry Toms, for throwing stones, to the danger of premises, wrs convicted and ordered to pay the cost of repairs. Martin Budden. for working a horse with a sore back, was fined £1 and costs, and counsel’s fee, £1 Is. ;
