HUTT RIVER BOARD

A meeting of the Hutt River Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. W. T. Strand (chairman), S. Clondon, F. H. Putter, J. C. Maney, and J. Mitchell. A report received from tho foreman of tho shingle works, showed that orders were good, and soil sought after. Local orders were a record, and the horses recently purchased were being full'' occupied for local work. It was resolved that tho clerk procure a list of the number of loads supplied, and prices charged for shingle during last month. Tho chairman reported that arrangements had now been made for the engineer to inspect tho river at the bask of Mason's Gardens, when necessary attention would bo given. The chairman's action was approved.
