WORK ON “BACK SATURDAY”
ARBITRATION COURT RULING. BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, April 10. An important case affecting some 500 coal miners in the Waikato was decided by Mr. Justice Frazxir in the Arbitration Court. The matter dealt with tlhe miners’ practice of iiot working on “back Saturday,” which is the alternative Saturday to the fortnightly "pay Saturday.” The Court held the award did not give miners “back Saturday” as a holidays that those who absented themselves from work on that day were committing a breach of tho conditions.
