TRADES & LABOUR COUNCIL
About 30 delegates were present at the annual meeting of the Wellington Trades and Labour Council last week. The president (Mr. J. Read) was in the chair. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The former made reference to the prosperous state of the liall account. The following officers for the ensuing year were re-elected:—President, Mr. J. Read; vice-president, Mr. H. Dyson ; secretary, Mr. W. Bromley ; treasurer, Mr. W. Cooper,; auditor, Mr. H. Batton; trustees, Messrs. W. Waterworth and Fred Cornwall; committee, Messrs. T. Warner, A. Murray. F. Singleton, J. Waddell, and J. Saunders.
