NEW ARRIVAL’S END
•REMAINS FOUND AT PLiMMERTON. The discovery of tho decomposed body of a man named William Lloyd, in tho bush at Plimmerton last week, was the' subject of' an inquiry by the Coroner (Mr. W. G. Riddell. S.M.), on Monday. Sonior-SergCant Lander appeared for the police. . On Friday morning last said Constable O’Donnell, he visited Air. Gray’s farm at Plimmerton, in response to a message received the previous evening that tho dead body of a man had been discovered in an exposed position at the top of tho hill about four miles from th© main road. The body was fully clothed, except for boots. A search of the body disclosed a British passport indicating that th© man was seventy years of age, and a boat ticket which showed that he had been a passenger to Wellington by th© Gorinthiq from London on March 7. Two photographs, two five-pound notes and eleven shillings in silver were also found. Later, witness mad© the discovery of a bag, belonging to th© deceased. at a small station named Pukerua. The bag, in addition to the deceased's name, bore the address: “George Johnstone, c/o Stationmaster, Pukerau, South Island.” At this stage the inquest was adjourned for the purpose of the institution of further inquiries by the police.
