CHIEF NEED OF DAIRY INDUSTRY
TRANSPORT ORGANISATION BY THLEGBAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. New Plymouth, March 27. Sir Thomas Clement addressed a large and representative meeting of dairymen at Urenui yesterday. He declared that the weak spot in the industry was transport organisation at both ends. There need be no fear of over-pro-duction, provided the best quality was sent; but regular supplies all the year round were wanted by distributors, who now sell’ New Zealand butter as “colonial,” because they cannot depend on a regular supply of New Zealand butter. ' The pool question was handled delicately, Sir Thomas saying he had no faith in short cuts or experiments. Which sometimes led to disaster.
