BANK NOTES
UNIFORM SIZE AND COLOUR.
Referring further to the change to be made in the size of bank notes reported in the Dominion of Friday last, the chairman of the Associated. Banks (Mr. Percy A. Cox) supplies the following are the particulars:-— “The size to be 7 inches by 3}-iiicbes, practically the same size as Bank of New Zealand 10s. notes or Commercial Bank £1 notes. The predominant colour of all notes of a denomination to be the same. The following will be the predominant colour of all notes in future to bo issued, viz:—los., yellow; £l. violet; £5, blue; £lO, brown; £2O, green; £5O, pink; £l6O, olive green. “This change, of course, will not take place wholly,'at once, but will bo effected gradually. Old notes as now used will gradually disappear and their replacement by the newly-adopted ones will shortly oommencx;. The smaller note to be adopted is the same size as the Commonwealth 10s. not. All the loading countries .in the world appear now tb bo using a smaller note than was formerly tbe custom.”
