TALK OF AN ENGLISH TOUR. BY TELEG3APH.—PBEiS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, March 20. At a meeting of the executive- of the New Zealand Hockey Association, was received from tho English ffockey Association stating that it was prepared to send a team to New Zealand if the question of expenses could be satisfactorily’ arranged. T-he secretary said that Die probable cost of. tile tour would be more than £4OOO, byit the New Zealand Association’s responsibility would bo much reduced if Australia would cooperate. Tho chairman said that Mr. H. D. Swan, manager of the M.C.C. team, who was an old follower of the game, had informed representatives of the executive that he would bring" the matter before the English Hockey Association and would use his best efforts to have a tour arranged. A letter was received from W. Rothwell, of the New South Wales Hockey’ Association, stating that the English tour could not be considered until an Australian Hockey Association had been formed. It. was honed that the proposed association would be in full working' order in a short tinle. The writer considered that 1925 would be a suitable year for the tour. No immediate further action was decided upon.
