CHRISTCHURCH MAN’S DEATH. BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, March 19. iErnest Audibert a married man, aged 45, died in hospital in circumstances that, rendered an inquest necessary. Last Wednesday Audibert, who was suffering from a severe cold, took a drink out of a botl'-',of liniment, in mistake for oougla mixture. Dr. Marks was called in, and ordered his removal to hospital. The patient was apparently successfully treated for the off rets of the liniment, but pneumonia set in, and« he died yesterday afternoon. Audibert was a wtsl-known business man of Christchurch, trading under the name of Wilson and Co., vulcanisers. Ho was secretary of the Veterans’ Cricket Club, and this season he played regu’arly for hzisT Christchurch junior A team. At the inquest, tho evidence disclosed that Audibert was’ suffering from a cold. He had a bad coughing fit while at work, and had taken a big dose from a bottle which he thought contained his cough mixture. Immeaiately afterwards he had discovered his mistake and tried to call out, hut collapsed. He aould not account for taking the wrong medicine. He had not done so purposely. The Coroner returned a verdict that death was duo to pneumonia, which supervened after liniment had been taken in mistake for cough mixture.
