In the House of Commons, Sir Robert Sanders. Minister of Agriculture, said that the Government would support- tho Merchandise Marks Bill. The greatest difficulty would be putting it into force with tho machinery laid doivn. The Bill passed its-- second reading with a majority of 183.
The decree nisi granted to John Hugo Russell, son of Lord Aippthill, doos’ not decide the question "of the succession to the title. The verdict means that the child is- not Russell’s, but further proceedings are necessary formally to declare the child’s legal status. An appeal has been lodged on behalf of Mrs Russell. The costs of the two trials aro approximately £25,000.
