Mr. G. Petherick a member of the Licensing Committee, informed a Dominion representative yesterday that the licensing election to-morrow will be the first hold tn Wellington for seventeen years. “The issue on that occasion,” ho said, “was 10 or 11 o’clock closing. AlO o’clock ticket was elected. A full ticket was run by the other side, but we won very comfortably.” Mr. Petherick added that ho was the only member of the committee elected at that time who still retained his seat.
