CHAIR OF EDUCATION
PROFESSOR TENNANT APPOINTED Professor Tennant, principal of the Training College, informed, the Wellington Education Board yesterday that he had received from the Victoria University College Council the offer of appointment of the new Chair of Education. In h.is letter covering the offer, the Registrar stated that the council regarded it as a tribute to the work he had already done in tho college, and trusted that he would see his way to accept the iiosition. Professor Tennant stated that he wished to leave hrnself entirely m the hands of the beard. It was decided to convey to Professor Tenmint the congratulations of the board, and its entire approval of his acceptance of the professorship. A hearty vote of thanks was accordod to Professor Tennant for the excellent service ho had rendered in developing to its present cfficiencj' -he large institution over which he mad presided with such distinction. lhe board regarded the proposed arrangement as furnishing tho most effective provision for carrying on the work ot the coming session. The board decided to take Lhe neces-/ saa-y- steps for filling, the nosition of principal of the Training College.
