EA'ENING meeting. The first evening meeting of the new year and the last of the old programme was. held yesterday at; Kelburn Park under the control of the Alanst Old Boys’ Athletic Club. All of the events brought out a largo competitors. and some remarkably close finishes were witnessed, a sinking tribute to the discrimination and judgment ot the handicapper. The conditions were far from ideal, there being a strong and keenly biting wind blowing making for discomfort and greatly hindering the-competitors in the longer distances. ~ The following are the results.---100yds. The performance of McKinlay, who was tho virtual scratch man, put up a meritorious performance. Taking the lead halfway in the last lap, he von easily, finishing strongly. 440vds —R.
