BURNED TO DEATH
BY CHINESE LANTERN CHILD ENVELOPED IN FLAMES BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Palmerston North, January 15. Gloiy Winifred Morris, two years of age.’ whose parents reside in Now Plymouth, died in hospital on Saturday as' the result of severe burns. A Chinese lantern was suspended over the child’s bed. The candle burned low and ignited the paper, which fell and set fire to the bedclothes, enveloping the child in flames.
