BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. —CORYRIGHT. (Rec. January 10, 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, January 10.

The State Government land proposals have been formulated. It is estimated that 34,000,000 acres of good land near railway lines are available, which will accommodate 25,000 more settlers. Of this area 2,500,000 acres are already open.for settlement. It is proposed to resume the balance after a leasonabld period has been allowed the present owners to voluntarily divide the land, with the help of funds supplica by the Rural Bank. ( The alternative of voluntary surrender will be higher taxation of large estates, or finally compulsory resumption., Tho proposals inc.ude considerable extension of the existing irrigation areas, providing a large number more holdings for prospective settlers. —Press Assn.
