KU-KLUX-KLAN

INTRICATE SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT

THREATS OF FORCE KEEP r , CITIZENS IN TERROR

BY TBLBGaAPH —PBBBB ASSOCIATION. —COPYBIGHT. (Rec. January 10, 8.25 p.m.)

New York, January 9

A Bastrop (Louisiana) telegram says a witness gave intimate details of the Ku-Klux-Klan’s activities in Bastrop parish, where the murders of Daniels and Richards occurred. The witness showed that an intricate, invisible government existed, neighbour watching neighbour for moral violations. The Ku-Klux-Klan carried out extensive punishments, kidnapping some, including women, and sending them into other States, flogging others, killing sometimes, and always using the threat of force, keeping citizens in constant terror. —Aus.-N.Z.
