MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

The finst committee meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union for the New Tear was held last night, when Mr. J. P. Prendeville occupied tho chair. There were also present: Messrs. G. F. Jackson, F. A. Laws, J. Lundon, J. W. Heenan, E. Perry, W. Hardham, and A. E. Nielson.

Messrs. McGaskell, Taylor, and Whaaka, of Wellington, were suspended on the grounds of having played League football. Their cases will bo repcited to ihe council. The question of certifying to the ages of those playing in the lowest grades of football, a source of annoyance and delay, which seems to recur at the end of every football season, was dealt with It was pointed out that unless the committee had fully satisfied themselves as to the ages of the boys in the winning Wellington teams, the championships could not be awarded.
