TO-DAY’S GAMES. Bright and interesting cricket is expected at tho Basin Reserve to-day, when the matches commenced last Saturday will bo concluded. Both Midland, who have made 15 for on® wicket against Thorndon’s 325, and Institute, against whom Old Boys have scored 257 for eight wickets, will have to score rapidly to win, but in view of the new system of scoring, which gives a point for a draw as against three points for a first innings win, their policy will no doubt be to play for a win rather than a draw. At Petone the local team have made 8 for no wickets against Wellington’s 241, while at Hutt, Y.M.C.A., with one wicket down, require 165 runs to reach the home team’s total.
