FIRST ATHLETIC TOURNEY AUSTRALIAN RECORDS BEATEN WELLINGTON COLLEGE SUPREME The eleot of all the secondary schools’ athletes of Wellington mot at the Basin Reserve yesterday, for the first time in history, In a tourney that Is destined to have Domin-ion-wide status.

After possible candidates for secondary championships had been tried out in tho schools’ athletic tourneys that have been held, the way was paved for the holding of tho first meet between them and the event, which took place yesterday at the Basin Reserve, in excellent weather and before a big gathering; brought out a number of highly promising athletes. The organising body responsible takes the name of the Wellington Secondary Schools Athletic Association, affiliated to the Now Zealand governing body, and it is intended to extend the activities thus initiated to embrace all phases of athletics.
