FANTASTIC BOOM ON BERLIN " BOURSE EFFORTS TO STABILISE MARK DISCOUNTED (Rec. November 2, 11.20 p.m.) London, November 1. The “Daily Express’s” Berlin correspondent states that November 1 was christened “Millions Day” on the Berlin Bourse. Shares rose by thousands per cent. Stocks in the Sltinnes Company increased more than a hundred times their normal value. The thus discounted the possible effects of the negotiations with the Reparations Commission for stabilising the mark._ The “Daily Telegraph’s” Berlin correspondent says the fantastic boom in securities is variously ascribed to foreign orders, and the restriction in speculation, on Exchange liberating hoards which otherwise would have been used to buy foreign currencies. It is also suggested that large quantities of marks held abroad are being invested in the hope of getting at. anyrate some small return.
