It is expected thereby to raise an annual revenue of £1.0,000 for the maintenance of hospitals. The New South Wales Legislative Assembly passed the North Shore Bridge Bill with the assistance of a section of tho Labour Party, after strenuous opposition by the Country Party. The Bill provides for levying a special property tax on districts directly benefited by tho bridge when it is built.
