The Marlborough Rugby Union has written to Mr. R. AftCallum, M.P., m connection with the collection of amusement tax on football matches, stating (says the “Express’ ) that the Union has passed a resolution strongly protesting- against the action of the Government in imposing the tax on athletic sports bodies, and requesting him t-o support any movement for the abolition of such tax.
