WELSH SOCIETY
AN HARMONIOUS EVENING- * Wales is the land of song, the home of the harp and the minstrel. A very enjoyable evening was spent by the Welsh residents of ’Wellington at Dustin’s rooms on Saturday evening. Mr. F. C. Edwards presided. Mr. 1. J. Jenkins conducted tho singing, and Mr. E. Wilman, and Mrs. L. E. Tucker presided at the piano- Air. J. Tucker, speaking in Welsh, welcomed the visitors and newcomers. The president sipoko in glowing terms of the prospects of the society, and expressed the hope that Mr. Lloyd George would bo able to visit the colony early next year. Welsh solos were rendered by Mrs. E. Wilman, Miss Mair Davies, and Mr. JTucker. English solos were sung by Miss G. Basset and Messrs. T. J. Jenkins and S. Boock. . The audience joined heartily in singing a number ot Welsh airs, which are as immortal as they are loved of Welshmen The singing of tho Welsh National Anthem and “God Save the King” terminated a very happy Welsh event.
