COLLEGE GOVERNORS

The monthly meeting of the Wellington College Board of Governors was hold yesterday, Mr. W. F. Ward presiding. According to the statement presented there was a debit balance at the bank ■of £2923 2s. 7d. The total debit on paper was £3777 16s. t. It was reported that the Government had made a grant of £75 towards the games fund of the two colleges. Mr. J. Dighton was appointed assistant master at the Boys’ College. The headmaster of Wellington College reported that the number at present on the roll was 746, with an average attendance for the month of 714. Three girls from the Girls’ College had been selected to represent Wellington in the New Zealand hookey touraoment, which is to take place at Napier this month It was decided to forward the thanks of the Girls' College to the donor of the Hilda Moorhouse Memorial Scholarship. The subject for the essay in connection with the scholarship is “The Team Spirit, What it Means to the School and the Community.” -
