A lecture that ie expected to attract a great deal of interest amongst lovers of music will be given by Air. Leo Buckeridge at St. Andrew’s Hall, The Terrace, to-night, on Reminiscences of his Student Days in Italy. In addition to tho lecture, Air. Buckeridge will sing songs by Francesco Quaranta, Piccoli, Verdi, and Tosti’s “Ave Alaria,” a very rare and beautiful song. Miss Natusch will sing “Verria Morire,” by Tpsti, and Miss Sigrrd Lynnejierg “Alattinata,” by the same composer. Airs. Natusch will be the accompanist. The lecture is under the patronage of the Italian Consular Agent, Mr. L. 0. H. Tripp. Although Wairarapa Press reports have indicated the existence of a call to Air. A. C. Holms to contest the Wairarapa seat at the general election, it is understood that, in the role of an Independent Liberal, he will again try conclusions with the sitting member for Alasterton, who some time back definitely announced his candidature. Mr. Holms, who has been of late recruiting his health in Levin, has been appointed editor of a South Wairarapa newspaper. •
