TRAMWAY EXTENSION
Wallace to john street The Tramways Committee of the City reported last night that they had instructed the tramways manager to prepare the necessary_ plans, etc., required in connection wit' the proposed tramway extension to John Street. This will mean the provision of an alternate route to Newtown, Island Bay, Lyall Bay, Seatoun, and Miramar, tho connecting point being at the junction of Adelaide Road. Revans Street, and. John Street. The route should, on special occasions particularly, give relief to the main route, as it will serve to bring people .from the southern end of the city to Webb Street and the top of Cuba Street.
