BIG PROGRAMME OF WORKS IN FRANCE A MINISTER’S SCHEME BY TBLKGKAPH.—PBESS A 88OCIATION —OOPTBIOHT. Paris, June 27. .The newspapers outline an extensive programme, drawi> up by M. le Trocquer, Minister of Publio Works, for execution by Germany in Franco in connection with the reparations scheme.
It provides for the -construction of several new railway lines, with a view to the possible sequel of a Channel tunnel, the whole costing 1640 million francs, or 800 million francs without the tunnel. General improvements are suggested to numerous ports at an estimated cost of 3200 million franco. Other projects bring the estimated cost of the whole of the works to 18,500 million francs, but the total sum will not be provided by Germany.—Aus.14. Z. Cable Assn.
