LADY RHONDDA AND THE HOUSE OF LORDS. (Reo. Juno 28, 7.50 p.m.) London, June 27. The Committee on Privilege has completed the rehearing of Lady Rhondda’s claim to a seat in the House of Lords. Tho Lord Chancellorj on behalf of the majority of eight, in outlining their reasons for rejecting tho claim, said that the holder of a peerage who was a minor was not entitled to a writ, but might grow entitled to it, and a felon or bankrupt might receive ( a pardon. but a female remained a female until she died, and so was disqualified by her sex. Lord Haldane, on behalf of tho two dissentients, said that tho Sex Disqualification Removal Act operated and entitled the claimant to a writ of summons.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
