TAUMARUNUI’S POWER SCHEME
BIG SUM RAISED IN WELLINGTON '■ - 4 BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Taumarunui, June 28. Tho Borough Council has been successful in raising a loan of £47,000 through a AVellington lending institution \at six per cent, at par, without any floating expenses, for a term of twenty-one years, for a hydroelectric power scheme. Plans and specifications have been prepared, and tenders are to be called immediately. It is anticipated that tho works Will bo completed in fourteen montns. "he power is to be obtained from the AVanganui River.
