4 — McCLEARY-McQUARRIE BOUT DEFEATED MAN LODGES A PROTEST BY TBIMBAPH.—PMS3 ASSOCIATIONDunedin, June 271 Brian ' McCleary, who was knocked out by McQuarrie in a boxing contest the previous night, has lodged a protest on tho ground that he was declared tho winner at the conclusion oi the eleventh round, when an announcement was made by the master ot ceremonies that McQuarrie’s hand ivas broken. The protest will be dealt with to-morrow night. Meantime the pay-ing-over of the stakes has been deierred ’ho Otago Boxing Association -has definitely arranged a match between Whitaker (Wellington) and the champion, McQuarrie. The bout will probably take place at Dunedin in August. HUTT VALLEY TOURNEY.
