RETURNED SOLDIERS' APPEAL
For the.first time since the war -the V ¥ S n &”. i” Hnnealina to the public for tunas. _1 ah’ 5 other centres throughout the Dominion burned soldiers have the' own clubs, and the reason that Mel lington is not now in that f °rtunate position is on account of the fact a tremendous amount of money was snent during the war in _ welcoming home returning troops. This has been appreciated by returned soldlers and their relatives throughout the Domin ion, and the R.S.A. in Wellington consider that the funds were wisely expended. The necessity for the present appeal is therefore apparent. During the war the public of Wellington subscribed very generously and the R.S.A. is lookiiig forward to a big day on Friday. The stalls thiough out the streets will be well stocked, 'but the executive will be pleased to receive any contributions of books, tovs, fruit, flowers, preserves etc., tor sale on the day. These can be left at the R.S.A. Club in Brandon Street. In connection with the appeal a grand concert is to be held in the Town Hall on Saturday, March 11, at 8 p.m. Leading performers in Wellington have promised their services, including the Waterside Workers, Band and the Commercial Travellers Choir. Tickets for this concert are now on sale and may be obtained from the stall-keepers on Friday. The box plan is at tho Bristol.
