TEST CRICKET
HOBBS REPLIES TO ARMSTRONG ENGLAND’S ATROCIOUS LUCK Sy Teltfrranh—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 19,' 7.30 p.m.) , t London, 'September 19. Hobbs, interviewed by the "Daily News," replies to Armstrong’s remarks. He expresses surprise that his old friend had not referred to England’s atrocious luck. "I never imagined Armstrong would come down like a thousand of bricks on the English' professionals. His slight is not easy to understand. I personally, am acquainted with all the professionals who played in Australia and .England. It seems to me that Armstrong has formed a very quaint .notion of our national pride;' I do not believe wo could have made any- show 'at all during tho last five tests by reducing the number of professionals, but I am ready to admit that we were defeated because we met a better team." —Aus.-N.Z.
