SHIP’S OFFICER INJURED

Mr E R. Hanson, the fourth engineer on tile Rimutaka, met with a painful accident on board the vessel yesterday afternoon, through becoming caught in the steamer's reversing gear. lie accident occurred just as the Rimutaka was moving out from the wharf preliminary to her departure for Southampton. Mr. Hanson suffered injuries to his fa ‘‘ e > head, and shoulders, which were oadly cut ’ The Rimutaka moved into the stream, and the, injured man was brought ashore by the Harbour Boards launch Uta and removed to the hospital. On account of the accident the Riniutaka’s depicture was delayed until later in the evening, when Mr. Thompson was signed on in place of Mr. Hanson.
