STEAMER RAWER A AT PATEA. By Telegraph - Pres* Association. Wanganui, June 10. The steamer Hawera, 174 tons, stnielj the mole entering the Patea River terday and was seriously damaged. Sht> reached the wharf leaking badly. He? side is staved in. The steamer will bq emptied and beached for temporary repairs. From advices received in Wellingiort yesterday, it appears that the Hawera struck the eastern wall about midday on Thursday. It is understood that her cargo has been discharged, and that repail's will lie effected as soon as pqs* sible. Two shipwrights have been dispatched to P.atea, but as yet their report on the extent of the damage has not lieen received. Captain M’Kinnon was in command of the vessel, the. local agents for which are Messrs. Dalgety mid Company.
