FINAL QUALIFYING ROUNDS.
(Rec. June 9, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 8. In the final qualifying rounds at Gleneagles, Kirkwood took 35 over the Queen’s course and 72 over the Rings, the lattefl score [including lan extra stroke owing to a marker’s error. Tho following are tho results over 54 holes:—Ray, 212; Havers, Hutchinson (America), 213; Ockenden, 214; Kirkwood and Vardon, 217; Braid and Renouf, 218. Two ether Americans, Hagen and French, also Mitchell, qualified, bnt Duncan failed. Kirkwood is feeling confident, and the condition of his sprained wrist is improving. It is expected to bo all right to-morrow, when ho will play Vardon. Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
kirkwood’s Superb iron play.
London, June 8. The "Daily Chronicle” says Kirkwood’s iron play in the qualifying round at Gleneagles was superb, despite his injured wrist, on which he wore an elastic bandage. His score on tho King’s course included six threes.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
