GREAT BOOM CAUSES SHORTAGE OF GROUNDS. London, June 8. Sport is (booming in England, partly B 9 the result of military training and the games organised behind the lines. It is estimated that 50,090 are playing cricket in Greater London, and 60,000 plaving lawn tennid. The latter sport is experiencing tho greatest boom in its history, resulting in a temporary shortage of balls and rackets and increasedprices. There are not sufficient courts available, and every, club has a long waiting list. Tho authorities predict a greater football boom in the coming season. Three thousand clubs will play in Greater London, and there would be five thousand if more grounds were avail-able—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
