WEEKLY HALF-HOLIDAY
VOTES IN VARIOUS CENTRES.

The fluilf-holiday question was very hotly contested here, the poll being heavy, and resulting in Tlnwaday being chosen by 765 votes to 60S. The Borough Council had fixed Saturday on the Mayor’s casting, vote and the poll was demanded on a petition. Blenheim, April 27.
For the Saturday half-holiday 1085 votes were cast, and for Wednesday /18. By Telegraph—Press Association. New Plymouth, April 27. The half-holiday poll resulted in Saturday being carried by 1895 to 518. Thursday is the half-holiday at present. Oamaru, April 27. The Saturday half-holiday was carried, the voting being:—Saturday, 820; Thursday, 438. /For Monday there was on® vote, and for Tuesday one.

Voting on the half-holiday question, resulted as follows -.—Saturday, 1565; Thursday, 1170; majority for Saturday, 595. Carterton carried the Saturday halfholiday by 90 votes.*
