“RECRUIT” TO CONSERVATISM
LORD DERBY’S REFERENCES TO MR. LLOYD GEORGE. (Rec. April 26, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 25. Lord Derby, alluding to his references to Mr. Lloyd George at tho Junior Imperial League, said he had no mandate from the Conservative Party that _it would open its arms to the Premier, or, from Mr. Lloyd George to say, that he'wished to fall into those arms. There was an old saying that a reformed poacher made the best gamekeeper. If that was eo, they could not get a better recruit to the Unionist Party than Mr. Lloyd George.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
