THE SECOND DAY'S ITEMS INTEREST NOT DECREASED Appreciative audiences attended. _ the Grand Opera House yesterday to listen to the second day's competitors in the Wellington Competitions Society's annual Eisteddfod. The evening session was particularly well attended, the various comnetitors receiving an attentive heai'ins. The children's events -elocution and Highland dancing-were much appreciated, . he standard presented being uniformly high. The judge of ' elocut'on. Mr.' Stanley. Warwick, who arrived from Sydney yesterday morn--1 ing, was preseut at last evenings performance, and received a cordial welcome from the audience. In place of the choral numbers-the choirs being unable to attend in lull. an nmusing iinnromptu debate was staged. Mr. F. V. Frazer being the judge. The subject of the debate 1 was, "Should Women's Clubs bo Ell- - courngcd?" and the several competitors provided a happy interlude. The competitors were Messrs. Martin Smith, C. e Pope, V. Evans, F.
