Hughes said tho Archbishop was tho leader of tho Sinn Fein in Australia. He had abused his position as n priest to further tho most disloyal purpose, to set creed against croed, and class against class. Respecting Dr. Mannix's statement that lie will reply to Mr. Hughes when he returns, Mr. Hughes said: ''Ho may; but first of all ho has to return."—Press Assn. INDIGNATION AT ANTI-BRITISH PROPAGANDA. Winnipeg, August 3. The Victorian Attorney-General, Mr. A. Robinson, who is here on liis way to Melbourne, in an interview, said that Archbishop Mannix was a very disturbing element in the community, and a fomenter of anti-British feeling. The Nationalist Party would possibly havo been unsuccessful in the elections without the indignation which anti-British propaganda had aroused. A legal authority, writing in the "Westminster Gazette," predicts that in tho event of the Government invoking the Defence of the Realm Regulations to prohibit Dr. Mannix landing in Ireland, all -the friends of British liberty will unite in bringing the issue to the Courts.
