TOO EXPENSIVE
THE DOLORES PROPERTY. Mr. J. P. Luke (Wellington North) nsked tho Minister of Education in the House of Representatives yesterday what he intended to do regarding tho proposed purchase of tho Dolores Bshte as a recreation ground for the Training College au<l Normal School at KeVburn. Mr. Parr said the purchase wan impossible. The price asked was JJl4,Ono for an area of less than two acres, and ho was informed that the' levelling of tho block would cost .£13,000, making tho total cost of the playground .£27,000. The Education Department could not face such an expenditura for tho purpose.
