HOLMES DEFEATS VOLAIRE ON POINTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevtrke, July 22. Tho fifteen-round professional lightweight contest between Harry Holmes and Eugene Volaire, for a purso of .£250, under tho auspices of the Doanevirko Boxing Association, went the full distance. Holmes had n slight advantage throughout, and won on points. • Tho amateur bouts resulted: P. Hannn (Bastings) defeated S. Can- (.Wellington); I G. Cnrran (DanncvirKc) beat Redwing (West Coast). Both verdicts were oh points.
