ALLIANCE UNOFFICIALLY EXTENDED TREATY REFERRED TO LEAGUE I OF NATIONS ißy Telegraph-Press Associatlon-OopyrllfM (Keo. July U, 11.35 p.m.') London, July 13. It. is understood that Britain and Japan have agreed, to one year's unofficial extension of the Treaty, but there will be no formal renewal until 1921. In thft meantime tho Treaty has neen referred to the League of Nations, which has been invited to express an opinion whether it conflicts with any provisions of the League Covenant. The whole position will be reviewed as at the Imperial Conference in the light of tho League's representations and overseas opinion.-Ans.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
