HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated Juno ID, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— "Butter—Pric© English butter is Tinchanged at £16 2s. Moiket is -unsetfieu owing to decision of 'Food Ministry to reduce Government controlled butter on and after June 28 to 2s. 'Bd. per lb. retail. _ Demand for best quality Irish is good. Quotations for creamery are •£l4'ss. to Jfcls Bs. per cwt.. Large production of Danish is reported. "Cheese—Demand for English is moderate with no change in price ;£8 12s. to .£9 Cs. Canadian is cheaper; spot is. to i 8 Bs.; quotations C.I.F. lower at £7 Vis. Stocks in London June" 18, Canadian and States 20,119 against 15,972 last year, New Zealand 12,402 against 26,713.
"Hemp—Manila market easier early, this week tut firmer towards close with better demand. "J" grade February-. April to April-June shipments sold 155.; August-October shipment sold £(&.': New Zealand market is'quiet and prices' unchanged. Sellers' present quotations are: Highpoints £58, fair. J856, ■ MarohMay and April-June shipments '£U and' .£52 respectively. "Honey—Demand is moderate but prices' are firm. New Zealand M 17s. 6d. to £3 3s. per cwt.' according to quality."
The New Zealand Loan and Kercantil Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their Lon-1 don house under date Juno 17:—Tallowr' We quote present spot values for thei following descriptions of tallow: Fine, mutton, M ss. per cwt.; good beef, £i per cwt.; mixed, £3 12s. 6d. per owt. Market dull with downward tendency;'Babbit skin's: There is no demand. Furriers and hatters' 6orts have declined 5 per cent, for good quality, with down-' ward tendency; inferior quality has: declined 35 per cent,, market steady. <■ -
