INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION
A meeting of tho Wellington Industrial Association was held last night. Mr. n. Mainland presiding.
' ■ A report received b.v the secretary from the. Auckland ABSooiation dealt with the movement to encourage tho use of New* Zealand-made goodß. Tho . Auckland Association urged that the first essential was to establish a manufacturers' tournal, Issued in the best style, by interested manufacturers throughout tho Dominion. —The matter was left to be dealt with meantime by the Standing Committee.
There was a brief dißcusßion on a proposal that the association should cooperate in reject to local industries with the Chamber of Commerce. The opinion of members was that the association could do moßt of its work better for itself than any other body could do it. They agreed, however, that on occasion it might be possible to work with tho manufacturers' Committee of tho Wellington Chamber, and in view of this possibility tho association decided to thc/nk the chamber for having set up the committee, and tn express a hope'that 6ome good result would come of its establishment.
