Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.,' leport: At our monthly sale held on December 11 we offered a good catalogue of all cla c ;es to a ; good attendance of buyers. Tanners took a fair proportion of hides, tho balance submitted to auction met with very keen competition .at late market rates. Calfskins: These were all offered at auction and made record prices, several lines in our catalogue making over three shillings per lb. Tallow is still very firm. We quote: Ox heavy, 18d. to 18.Jd.: medium, 18d. to IMd.'j light, 17iid. to 18Jd. Cow. Heavy, 17jd. .to lSd.; medium, 173 d. to 18) d.; light. 17-Jd. to 18} d.; cut, slippy,' and i-ferior, 12d. tv. 17d-; yearlings and kins, Ml. to L'Gd. Calfskins: Best lines, 3Gjd; (fill), equal to 15s. per skin), calf medium 3:1(1. to 35d.; calf stained, 2l)d. to 32d.; cut, slippy and inferior, lfid. lo -29d. Horse bides, lis. to 28s. each., . Tallow: In casks, second grade, ,£GG per ton; in tins, from .tii to X 59 per ton. Horsehair, Is. Gd. per lb. .
